Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Crumblio. They cover the app, the optional subscription and this website. Please read them before using the service.
1. Who we are
Crumblio is operated by Federica Mariani, an individual established at Via Rio de Janeiro, Torino, Italy (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at support@crumblio.com for support, and at privacy@crumblio.com for privacy matters.
2. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country, to use Crumblio and to purchase a subscription. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you do not, you must stop using the app.
3. The service
Crumblio lets you photograph a meal, receive an estimate of the foods, portions and calories, keep a food diary and pantry, generate recipes from what you have, and read general information from an in-app coach.
Estimates are produced automatically and can be wrong. Portions, calories and nutrients are approximations, not measurements. You are responsible for checking the result before you rely on it, and for correcting it when it is wrong.
The app works without an account. Your data is stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may update, change or discontinue individual features, and we may apply daily usage limits to AI features to keep the service available and affordable.
4. Licence and restrictions
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, subject to the rules of the store you downloaded it from.
You may not:
- copy, resell, sublicense, rent or distribute the app;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code, except where the law expressly allows it;
- interfere with the service, bypass usage limits, or use automated tools to send requests;
- use the app to break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, or upload images of other people without their consent.
5. Apple’s Standard EULA
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the Apple Standard End User Licence Agreement also applies. If these terms conflict with the Apple EULA on a matter Apple requires, the Apple EULA prevails for that matter.
Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and any claim relating to the app must be addressed to us, not to Apple, except for claims Apple handles as merchant of record for purchases.
6. Subscriptions
Crumblio Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription. It is available as a monthly plan and an annual plan. The title, length and price of each plan are shown in the app and on the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase.
- If a free trial is offered and you do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it converts into a paid subscription at the price shown.
- If we change the price, we will give the notice required by Apple and by applicable law; you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Pro features are also subject to fair-use limits. “Pro” does not mean unlimited automated requests: it means the limits published in the app, which exist to keep the service available to everyone.
7. Refunds and the right of withdrawal
Purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple as merchant of record. Refund requests must be sent to Apple through the process described at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have a right of withdrawal for distance contracts. For digital content and services supplied immediately, that right ends once performance begins with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose it. By confirming a purchase you ask us to start the service immediately and acknowledge this consequence. Mandatory consumer rights are not affected.
8. Acceptable use
Use the app only for lawful, personal purposes. Do not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or that infringes the rights of others. Do not attempt to extract other users’ data, probe the service, or use it to build a competing dataset. We may suspend or terminate access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these rules.
9. Intellectual property and your content
The app, its name, its design, its code and the content we provide are owned by us or licensed to us. These terms do not transfer ownership of any of it.
The photos, texts and other content you create remain yours. You grant us only the limited right to process them to provide the feature you requested: for example, sending a photo to the AI provider when you ask for analysis. We do not use your content for advertising or to train our own models.
Nutrition data derived from USDA FoodData Central is used under CC0 1.0. Fonts and icons are used under their respective open-source licences.
10. Local storage, backups and data loss
Your diary, profile, pantry and saved photos are stored on your device. We do not keep a copy and cannot recover them for you. If you delete the app, lose the device or reset it, the data is lost unless your operating system backup restores it.
You are responsible for keeping your device and your backups secure. Do not rely on the app as the only record of information you may need later.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Crumblio available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features that depend on third parties, such as AI analysis or the App Store, may be unavailable from time to time. We may release updates that change or remove features; where a change materially reduces what you paid for, mandatory consumer law applies.
12. Health and nutrition disclaimer
Crumblio is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Calorie and portion estimates are approximate and can be substantially wrong, including for mixed dishes, restaurant meals and alcoholic drinks.
Do not use the app to diagnose, treat or manage a medical condition, an eating disorder or an allergy. Always check ingredients and allergen information yourself. If you have a medical condition or specific dietary needs, consult a qualified professional.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profit, or for decisions you take on the basis of an estimate produced by the app.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for mandatory consumer rights. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence.
14. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your data from it. We may suspend or terminate the service if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the app. If we discontinue a paid service, we will handle active subscriptions according to applicable law and the App Store rules.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence, and nothing here prevents you from doing so. Otherwise, the courts of Turin, Italy, have jurisdiction.
16. Changes and contact
This is version 1.0-draft, updated on 8 November 2026. We may update these terms when the service, the subscription or the law changes. Material changes are shown in the app and require your acceptance before you continue.
